Iranian nanobubble technology eliminates need for crop protection agents

"Using this technology has significantly improved the quality of our products, and the health of plant roots has noticeably increased. Also, there was no need to use fungicides during the cultivation period," said Mahin Zare, a greenhouse owner in Iran.

"Among the positive changes observed in the products are the improvements in the color, size, and shape of fruits, and these differences are noticeably visible compared to greenhouses that do not use nanobubble technology," she added.

Seraj Nanotechnology Company offers two types of nanobubble devices to suit greenhouse conditions: static devices for greenhouses with manual preparation of nutrient solutions, and online devices for systems equipped with hydroponic feeding automation.

Experts predict that the use of nanobubble technology can bring a yield increase of between 5 and 30 percent for greenhouse growers.

The managing director of an Iranian knowledge-based company active in the field of nanotechnology said in April that the company's experts had applied a nanobubble system for the agricultural and aquatic industries.

"We produce and commercialize the nanobubble system, which addresses one of the most important challenges of industries involved with gas and fluids. Some industries deal with mixing gas in liquids, for which the nanobubble system can be a solution," said Aref Dadgostar.

He explained that in the field of agriculture, the company's focus is on greenhouse irrigation, where they can increase the amount of oxygen in the irrigation water with the nanobubble system, which improves the root structure. He added that the absorption of nutrients by the root is higher with this method, and the plant will grow more efficiently, both quantitatively and qualitatively.

"In the aquatic sector, we can inject oxygen into water with the highest efficiency using this system and distribute oxygen throughout the pool; therefore, the fish do not experience the stress of absorbing oxygen in the water and have a better life in the pool, which will increase production threefold," Dadgostar said.
